Guiding Principle
Market entry cases are focused on covering the range of considerations to look at while deciding whether and how to enter a market. Sometimes the interviewer may call out a more specific area for you to direct your attention towards. Generally, the meat of these cases is in laying out a structure to comprehensively cover the key factors and then identify the areas of interest to do a more detailed analysis. In doing so, the key areas for focus are:
- Laying out a structure which covers all possible relevant factors
- Asking the right questions, to correctly identify most significant areas to dive deeper on
- Logical analysis to arrive at a reasonable recommendation
Rather than discussing the nitty-gritties much further, looking at an example case, and then solving more on your own would help. Beyond that you can have a look at the set of frameworks later on to spark a little more thought on useful structures to solve market entry cases.
Example
A sample market entry case has been worked out in this ppt file.
