Apple Salad

Ingredients

- 4 fuji apples (lighter in colour and more stripe lined) (sweeter apples)

- Handful of coriander
- 3tsp lime juice
- 1tsp salt
- 1tsp sugar
- 1tbsp oil
- 1tsp mustard seeds
- 0.25tsp asofoetida
- 2 green chillies

- Large vessel

Steps to Prepare

1. Cut Fruits & Vegetables

  1. Peel and cut the fuji apples into cubic pieces.
  2. Chop the coriander and spread across the apples.

  3. Cut the top off 2 green chillies and slit them open. For a spicier apple salad, cut the chillies into small pieces instead.

2. Make the Tadka

  1. Add 1 tbsp of oil to a small pan.
  2. Add 1tsp of mustard seeds.
  3. Add 0.25tsp of asofoetida.
  4. Add the slit/cut green chillies. Allow the oil to sizzle and take up the flavour and spice from the mustard seeds and chillies.

3. Assemble the Salad

  1. Put 1tsp of salt and 1tsp of sugar over the apples.
  2. Pour 2 tsp of lime over the apples.

  3. Pour the tadka over the apples. Now mix the entire salad until the distribution of all added ingredients is uniform.


  4. Refrigerate the apple salad, and serve only when cold.
