Egg & Paneer Puff

4 egg puffs + 4 paneer puffs.

Ingredients

- 2 Puff pastry sheets
- 3 Eggs
- 1 Block of paneer
- 1 Capsicum
- 2-3 Onion
- 4 Cheese slices
- Turmeric powder
- Red chili powder
- Garam masala
- Salt
- Butter
- Oil

Other Requirements

- Oven or combination microwave

Steps to Prepare

1. Prepare the Puff Sheets

  1. Leave puff sheets outside to thaw for 30 minutes. Keep opening it up (initially rolled) slowly, so as to avoid cracking it.

  2. If cracked, lay out the pieces together, and rub together with a little water to seal it up as a sheet.

  3. Cut each sheet into 4 equal sized pieces.

2. Prepare Eggs & Paneer

  1. Crack open 1 egg and keep only the liquid (not the yolk) in a cup.

  2. Boil 2 eggs for 15-20 minutes.

  3. Cut each boiled egg into 2 halves.

  4. Dice paneer into small pieces.

3. Cut & Prepare Vegetables

  1. Dice capsicum into small pieces.

  2. Cut onions into longer pieces.

4. Prepare the Masala

  1. Put oil in kadai and heat a little.

  2. Saute half the onions.
  3. Add 0.5 tsp turmeric powder, 0.5 tsp red chili powder, 0.5 tsp garam masala and 0.5 tsp salt.

  4. Repeat above steps with more oil, remaining onions, all the capsicum and paneer. This time use 1.5 tsp of each ingredient.

5. Assemble the Puff

  1. Place a slice of cheese on each quarter sheet.
  2. Place a half egg on each slice of cheese.

  3. Place sauted onions on cheese, along with egg.

  4. Fold up the quarter sheets from all 4 corners.

  5. Baste the folded puff with the egg liquid.

  6. Place the sauted paneer masala in the remaining 4 quarter sheets and fold up similarly and baste similarly.

6. Setting the Oven

  1. Preheat oven at 200° C.
  2. Butter the pan.

6. Cooking the Puff

  1. Set oven at 200° C for 24 minutes.

  2. Place the 2 sets of 4 puffs each one by one (24 minutes each).
